File Extension Pages

For over twenty years the word "apple" has been as strongly associated with computing as it has been with fruit. The digital age has allowed for an explosion in creativity, productivity, and accessibility, and a few notable companies have managed to find their niche, providing unique products consistently. This has proved quite difficult in a market which changes so rapidly due to consistent innovation in the hardware wing of the computing industry, leaving few companies left standing for long. At many times in Apple's history as both a hardware manufacturer and software producer, the company has been forced to reinvent itself to supply frequent and sweeping changes in the demand for particular products.

Regtask was able to clean up my computer and speed up the performance! I highly recommend it

Jo H.

My computer was always popping up with registry errors and I couldnt get rid of them. Regtask did the job for me and took less then 5 minutes to speed up my computer.

Samantha J.

I have to admit I'm no computer geek. When something goes wrong, I usually have to call someone to fix it and it costs me a lot of money. When my computer started to experience random freezes, I just used Regtask and now it works normally again.

David G.

My computer is 5 years old and runs extremely slow now. I was a bit sceptical about using Regtask, but just decided to give it a shot in the end and it worked out fantastically for me.

One example above all others seems to stand out in Apple's history as not only the most effective but also the most obvious change in the direction of their product. This was the period in which they shifted the look and feel not only of their computers but their software as well, around the year 2002 with the release of what they called OS X. This stands for operating system 10, a completely physically restructured and visually redesigned platform. On top of this, a very well coordinated effort was made to produce great software that made various tasks easier and more pleasurable than ever before, and that effort succeeded.

More Info Regarding File Extension Pages

One such program that proved appealing and accessible to people all over the world is iWork, which could be seen as a competitor to the Microsoft Office suite and is the successor and replacement for the AppleWorks software. Ironically, the platforms for both of these programs are interchangeable; There is a version of iWork for Microsoft's Windows OS, and as well a version of Microsoft Office for OS X! While the different sub programs within the suite are quite similar between the two functionally, there is quit a substantial price difference with iWork generally being affordable. Among the sub programs of iWork are a word processor, slide presentation creator, spreadsheet creator, and more. The .pages file extension is used for only one type of file, which is produced by the page layout and word processing sub program, simply titled "Pages." It aims to be first and foremost easy to use and intuitive. Because of this, in comparison to Microsoft's counterpart, "Word," some have criticized it as overly simplistic but one could contend that it may or may not be, depending solely on the specific user's needs.

Since there is no other known or currently maintained software platform or package that uses the .pages file extension, you can be relatively certain that what you're dealing with is intended to be opened and edited with Pages from iWorks. Be sure that you have the appropriate version of iWork installed based on whichever operating system you happen to be using; the latest version can be downloaded and installed from Apple's official website. Should you have the appropriate software installed, but you find that Windows does not automatically recognize a .pages file that you are trying to open it's possible that the correct file associations have not been made. You can set them manually by right clicking on the .pages document and selecting the "...Open with" option from the menu. From there you will be presented with a partial list of installed programs; should you not see iWork listed, navigate to the Pages program executable in your "Program Files" directory and select it. Once the associations for a given file extension have been made, they will be saved so that the process only has to be done once.

If you're certain that the correct file associations have been made and you've installed the right software but still can't open the file, search for the error message that you receive for more information about how to correct the issue. If the error message that is received simply says "Unrecognized file format," you are likely dealing with a file that has been either mislabeled or corrupted. Data corruption is damage to the data in a file, whether it be changed or missing, which usually occurs at the time of transmission of the file from one source to another. Examples would be saving a file from a CD-ROM to your computer's hard drive, or downloading a file from a server on the internet. Bad connections, damaged media, or a damaged file at the source can cause many different kinds of errors; to ensure that your file is undamaged, be sure to get a fresh copy of the same file from another source.
